Tahoe Wildlife Forum

The Tahoe community is invited to attend the Tahoe Wildlife Forum, including films and a panel discussion, on Thursday, January 28, 2010 from 6 to 9 pm, at the Tahoe Center for Environmental Sciences (TCES) at 291 County Club Drive in Incline Village, Nevada. The ilms begin at 6:00 pm and the community forum/panel discussion will follow.

This event is hosted the TCES, the Parasol nvironment Team, and Incline Village General Improvement District Waste Not Programs.

The Following Films Will Be Screened:blackbear

“Bears of Sequoia”  (42 Minutes)
This film documents the life f the American black Bear and shows what happens when bears and humans come together. Featured at the Lodgepole Visitor Center in Sequoia National Park, this film includes a cast of over 50 different bears found throughout the park and presents the solid waste management strategies undertake to reduce conflict.

“American Coyote – Still Wild at Heart” (30 Minutes)coyote1
This compelling short film produced by San rancisco based filmmaker, Melissa Peabody, is a virtual case study of the coyote’s natural range expansion continent wide. While the film unfoldswith the return of coyotesto the San Francisco Bay a rea, it pursues the coyote’s story across the North American
landscape —from Northern California toNew York City's Central Park to Chicago, andpoints in between.


A panel discussion will follow. The tentative panel lineup includes:
Madonna Dunbar, IVGID Resource Conservationist
Rebecca Sawyer Williams, IVGID Resource Conservation Technician
Ann Bryant, Director of the BEAR League
Cheryl Millman, Director of the Lake Tahoe Wildlife Center
With additional anticipated representation by the Nevada Department of Wildlife, Washoe
County Sheriff’s Department, and Washoe County Community Outreach.
