FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Kayla Anderson Marketing Coordinator (775) 832-1120, Kayla_anderson@ivgid.org IVGID Recreation Crew Building Starts Construction This Month Incline Village, NV- The IVGID Recreation Crew Building, located at 948 Incline Way, is about to begin $896,000 in new construction. The project includes $757,900 for building construction, a 10% project contingency of $75,800, and $62,000 for construction management, special inspection, and materials testing services. The project team includes the IVGID Engineering and Parks & Recreation departments, project architect BJG Architecture & Engineering, project civil engineer Lumos & Associates, and construction contractor Bison Construction. The project starts this month and is scheduled for completion by September 15, 2008. The IVGID Recreation Crew Building is a new 5725 square foot two story building, substantially larger than the single-wide trailer it replaces. Engineering Manager Brad Johnson said, “We’re doing the initial mobilization and BMP work this week with next week seeing the start of the underground and utility work.” He said that in the next few weeks they will be installing a new 4-inch fire line underneath the existing footpath and that during the installation process pedestrian traffic will be rerouted around the construction area. The footpath will also see a permanent realignment in the vicinity of the new building to allow for the larger footprint. “I’m excited to see this project begin construction; it’s been in the planning for a long time. It’s always great to see the project physically take shape after the design and permitting process,” said Johnson. A groundbreaking event is slated for Friday, May 9th at 9:30 am at the Recreation Crew Building, located at 948 Incline Way, behind the Parasol building.
